Compression of the posterior tibial nerve under an annular ligament on the inner side of the ankle. This results in loss of sensitivity of the sole of the foot or plantar pain. Treatment is either medical (correction of a static back-foot disorder such as flat foot by soles or corticosteroid infiltration), or surgical release.
